So this morning I was watching the news when Bush announced his new tool for Supreme court. I listened as he read the credentials of Sam Alito and it occured to me the last time I heard something like that was when I was in 3rd grade and we had to give oral presentations on book reports and the book had to be a biography. (I chose Theodore Geisel)

Take that back...I think the 3rd grade kids sounded like better orators. Jesus, this guy could read the resume of Ben Franklin, Thomas Edison or Jim Thorpe and make it sound like crap.

The Metro was running 20 minutes late, and it was sharing the track with another line (there was an 'incident' on the track), and we got on with a load of runners.

There were so many at the transfer point, we couldn't squeee on to the next train -- and we tried to squeeze in!

Neil remained in good spirits.

Harriet Miers

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- President Bush on Thursday accepted the withdrawal of Supreme Court nominee Harriet Miers, according to a statement from the White House.

I bet that he ASKED her to withdraw. It'd be really awkward to ask a nominee for Supreme Court Justice to be the defense council or to assist in the defense of your buddies Mr. Rove and Mr. Libby.

Oh and in other news...Kanye West...our president doesn't care about his brother's state either.

Neil just felt like running...

He just won't stop.

This weekend I'll be down in DC with my good friend Neil, where he will be running the Marine Corps Marathon, and I'll be sleeping. But later I'll wake up and watch him finish.

This is an amazing route, and I still can't imagine doing 26 miles of anything.

Anyway, his bib number is 23212, and for your benefit, I'm going to have updates emailed right to the blog.

I have absolutely NO idea what this will look like, but hey, it's worth a shot. You can also go to www.marinemarathon.com and search for him, they'll have this live map up.

Feel free to post your best wishes here, I'll have my laptop on me (gasp), so Neil will be able to see you cheer him on.

And yes, even though he runs in marathons, he is still more normal than Chuck.

I might be upset about this grant, after all, homeland security funds going to bingo halls?

BUT... I can't fathom what other places would have done with the money, so good for them.

Fortune Cookie

At lunch today with my fellow NY Jewish co-worker, we had the traditional Jewish meal...Chinese food. While talking about a co-worker that I had some issues with, I opened my fortune cookie... "YOU ARE NEVER BITTER, DECEPTIVE OR PETTY."

I thought that was a bit ironic...because I was being bitter and petty...but then it hit me...

You have to add, "IN BED" and then it was true.

Jews in Maine that is! .75% of the total population of Maine! WTF... get this there are only 6760 African Americans too. Oh and there are like 9100 Asians. There are 1.27 million people in Maine. In Vermont there are 5500 Jews which is .9% of the population of 610,000. Thats not a fucking state, thats a COUNTY! Hell, Andrew tells me that Edison's daytime population is more than half of that, and thats one freakin' town in NJ!!! There are 785,000 people in Middlesex county which is only 310 square miles (2422 people /sq mil) as opposed to Vermont's 9,250 square miles (65.8 people/sq mi). And Middlesex is 9.1& black and South Dakota's Jewish pop is so low a percentage that it comes up N/A in the census data. NJ has a population density of 1,134.

I'm BACK!

I know its been like A MONTH!!! I have been so busy getting settled in to my new condo, and its a mess, but the paint in the bedroom and bathroom looks great and now I just have some misc crap to attend to.

Anyway. At work, as the production director, it is my job to assign production to voice artists/dj's or voice them myself. one of my staffers is Leif Erickson. (His Real Name)

I had a little fun with him when a script for a hardware store came across my desk.
