Andrew...Be Careful

I await the visitation of Andrew...he'll be driving to Maine this weekend hopefully. Here is a word of caution:

I may weight only 55Kg, but my right foot, is at least 30 of them...today, for the first time in my entire 14 years of driving, I got a speeding ticket.

Here is why...New Jersey License plate. While doing 80 on the Maine Pike, following a row of 10 or 12 other cars doing 80, being trailed by 3 or 4 cars doing 80...I got singled out of the line because I had NJ plates.

The cop was VERY nice. Had a good sense of humor even joked that the Maine Pike is crazier than teh Garden State Parkway.

Now, my co-worker Chrissy, she thinks its because I am Jewish that I got pulled over. Maybe I should take the Star of David bumper sticker off my car? Or maybe the NY Yankees sticker?

Anyway, here is the point system.

My faves are...

Failure to Reduce Speed on a Grade or Curve - 2

And what the hell is: Lane Conviction - 2

The key is to go over 120 -- the cop cars can't keep up, and you only have 6 in the state, so them being able to radio ahead doesn't help much.

What is really odd though is that that "Failure to Yield to Emergency Vehicle" is only 2 more points then "Failure to Signal".

When someone doesn't let an emergency vehicle by, they make it take longer to get to a scene or get someone to a hospital (and/or Harolds). This costs lives.

And as much as I hate people who don’t signal, we must at least give emergency vehicles the chance to save people.
